Executive Chef & Owner
Meet Wayne Homsi, a culinary virtuoso whose passion for food and artistry has made him a prominent figure in the world of gastronomy. His pursuit of excellence led him to the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where he graduated with honors.
A Remarkable Career Wayne's culinary talents quickly caught the eye of the culinary elite, and he embarked on his career at the illustrious Waldorf Astoria hotel on Park Avenue in New York City. His ascent through the ranks was nothing short of remarkable, as he became the youngest Sous Chef in the history of the Waldorf. During his tenure, Wayne had the privilege of creating culinary masterpieces for dignitaries, celebrities, royal monarchs, professional athletes, and even world leaders such as President Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Madonna.
Continual Growth and Mentorship Wayne's culinary journey didn't stop there. He was recruited to work at some of the finest restaurants in New York City, including Peacock Alley, Artisanal Fromagerie, and Picholine. Eager to further refine his craft, Chef Wayne sought out opportunities to train with and work alongside renowned chefs such as Laurant Gras, Eric Ripert, Laurant Manrique, Daniel Boulud, Terrance Brennan, Gray Kunz, John Doherty, and Jeroen Van den Bos.
Il Barilotto Restaurant and Wine Bar In 2002, Wayne Homsi became the Executive Chef and partner at the highly regarded Il Barilotto Restaurant and Wine Bar, nestled in the beautiful Hudson Valley, New York. Here, Wayne's innovative culinary creations consistently brought a touch of New York City flair to the Valley. Under his guidance, Il Barilotto earned accolades and was rated by Zagat as one of the best Italian restaurants in the country, elevating its rating from 24 ("very good to excellent") to an impressive 27 ("extraordinary to perfection").
Local Connections and Casual Elegance Wayne Homsi has deep-rooted connections with the Hudson Valley community. As the Chef/Owner of Casual Elegance, he continues to set new standards for dining in the Hudson Valley. Here, he seamlessly blends classic culinary techniques with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients to craft menus that showcase the abundant bounty of the Hudson Valley.
Awards & Recognition Throughout his illustrious career, Wayne has received numerous awards and accolades. His restaurants and culinary creations have been featured in both local and national publications, including The Valley Table, Chronogram, Hudson Valley Magazine, Poughkeepsie Journal, Gourmet Magazine, The New York Times, Travel and Leisure, USA Today, and Bon Appétit Magazine. In addition to his culinary endeavors, Wayne has authored his own cookbook, titled "Good Food is an Adventure," embodying his belief that culinary exploration is a thrilling journey.

Susetta Homsi's culinary journey began in Naples, Italy, where she developed a deep love for Italian cuisine while helping her mother prepare traditional feasts. With a background in accounting and political science, she moved to the United States and joined her family's restaurant, Aroma.
Over the years, Susetta's passion for food and wine grew, leading her to complete a comprehensive wine training course in Italy and further her culinary education at The Culinary Institute of America. As the General Manager of Aroma, she became dedicated to providing memorable dining experiences.
Susetta's commitment to her craft culminated in her achieving the prestigious title of Certified Sommelier from the Sommelier Society of America. Her culinary adventures across Europe and the Mediterranean continue to inspire her love for food and wine.

Our culinary journey begins with a phone consultation. We'll delve into the details of your event, your preferences, likes and dislikes, any dietary restrictions or allergies, and the purpose behind your chef service. In addition, I'll inquire about your kitchen setup and available equipment to ensure I have everything necessary to bring our culinary vision to life.
Step 2: Crafting the Perfect Menu
Next, I'll curate a selection of menu options that are not only unique but also tailored to the season, ensuring an exciting dining experience. Once you've had a chance to review these options, we'll have a collaborative discussion to address any questions or suggestions you may have, resulting in the finalization of your evening's exquisite menu.
Step 3: Secure Your Date
With the menu in place and your taste buds tantalized, we'll proceed to secure a date for your event or special occasion meal. A deposit will be required to reserve and confirm your chosen date, ensuring that it's exclusively yours.
Step 4: Let the Celebration Begin!
As your personal chef, I will personally source the finest ingredients that the Hudson Valley has to offer, carefully selecting the elements that will transform your meal into a memorable experience. On the scheduled day, I will arrive at your home fully prepared to craft a delightful meal and ensure that your event is a celebration to be cherished.

"Chef Wayne and Susetta were hands down the best! We had gone through a few chefs over the years and his food, service, personality left everyone happy and satisfied. The food was outstanding. We had a family reunion in the Catskills and he prepared dinners for two nights for 16 people. He also brought dessert for the kids which they devoured. We are all vegetarian and his menu was perfect, I had no changes. He also brought fresh fruit, water bottles and bread from the market during our stay, which was very thoughtful and appreciated.
